The “un-organizers” will meet this Wednesday (July 2nd – 6PM) at Laika. We gathered a lot of comments from the previous edition and we’d like hear more comments if you have any.

I’d like to invite other people to join and help us. It’s a lot of work and we never have enough “un-organizers”! Come join us!

According to Erik Wright, “BlitzDirectory aims to eliminate the barriers to SaaS adoption facing small and medium businesses. By providing a unified experience for both administrators and users, BlitzDirectory will provide service consumers an affordable, “better-than-desktop” experience that they can setup in minutes. For SaaS vendors, BlitzDirectory is a targeted, value-added sales channel that enables them to stand out from the crowd.”

They focus SMB’s but I think they should focus large businesses as that’s where the problem is more critical (regulations and so on) and also, that’s where the money is :)

I wanted to participate myself but was clearly too busy with helping the organizing team. I didn’t regret anything as I had the chance to follow different teams on video. As soon as the event will be over, I will finish my “montage” and post the videos online. Great things are going to be created this week and it looks like there might be some surprises for the Montreal community in the near future. More on that later..!

Ben Yoskovitz from Standoutjobs started the evening with a presentation with tips on how to start your own startup. The Blitzweekend sponsors (iNovia, BDO, Globalex and Embrase) then quickly presented themselves. Other people pitched in including Alistair from rednod on making your product viral, Arach on Python. There were a few other presenters but unfortunately I missed them as being part of the organisers mean you must work too..!

For those of you who might be interested but don’t feel like joining then why not visit us as an expert? If you believe you can help others in any field you master then you are most welcomed. You won’t be part of a team per se but you’ll be able to roam from team to team, giving out tips on whatever you’re good at. This includes technology, business, accounting, law, web design, user accessibility, or any other field you think might be valuable to future entrepreneurs.

We only ask that you tell us in advance when you will be showing up as we might need to adjust some schedules. For example, we don’t want to have all the python gurus coming in 15 minutes before the end of the event…
