What will you do in 2009?
January 1st is the day most people make resolutions for the new year. I usually don’t as I know it’s pretty much useless. We get all excited for a few days then we forget everything. What I do is that I look at what I’ve done in the last year and search for ways to improve what I’ve already done.
I find it more rewarding than setting an impossible to achieve goal. And also that way, you don’t get mad if what you hoped for doesn’t work out as planned.
For 2009, I wish to improve my deal website by providing a plugin to other Wordpress blogs. That way, everyone will be able to put eBay deals on their home page. There are already plugins but none seem to search for items under a dollar ending soon…
A simple "improvement" and an easy to attain goal, don’t you think?
So what will you do in 2009…?
frankly, i have no idea. i don’t even know what i could do this month. i feel as if i’m starting a new project every month. some of them go nowhere, some are ok (events, etc.), some do well (mtw, business and web projects)
I agree that it’s pretty hard to guess in advance but you can often set some general milestones.
On my side, that’s why I like to look back and see what I can improve. Instead of starting something new, which might fail, I tell myself to improve something “successful” or at least something that hasn’t failed..!
There are also some things that I regretted in 2008 – like selling YulNews.com as it has gone nowhere since then. However, it allowed me to work on DailyDollarDeal which has proven to be quite successful so far. So I guess it was a blessing in a way :)
