Tungle announces $5M Series A funding
September 30th, 2008
Tungle, one of Montreal’s famous startup is becoming even more famous. They announced today that that it has secured 5 million dollars in Series A funding. That’s more than good news to me!
The round was led by Waltham, MA-based Commonwealth Capital Ventures. Existing investors, including JLA Ventures and Desjardins Venture Capital, also participated in the round. The funds will be used to accelerate the company’s marketing and engineering activities.
I had the chance to speak with Mark (Tungle’s CFO) sometime ago and had told him that Tungle was targeting a very problematic issue in the corporate world. This is something that a lot of people can’t see but it’s very hard to setup meetings involving multiple companies. If I were Microsoft (or even Google), I’d keep an eye on these guys.

New feature on DailyDollarDeal!
September 18th, 2008
There is a new, small but relatively interesting feature on Daily Dollar Deal, my website dedicated to deals.
If you visit this page , you can browse articles on Amazon that are listed (up to) at 90% off.
Take this page for example where you can find a 2GB SD card for just 3.85$. How about this page where you can find an universal USB charger for 0.26$ (not that’s not a typo..!)
There is a lot of products on Amazon and I hope my tool will allow you to find more deals! More to come!

Chrome crash
September 2nd, 2008
Slightly off topic but I installed Chrome today. Chrome is Google’s web browser which is so far pretty nice. You should check it out. It (will?) support compiled JavaScript so this will be quite interesting in terms of speed.
What’s funny is they claim that if a “tab” hangs, only that tab will crash. Well that’s not quite right as you can see below…

I know it’s beta but not only did the browser crashed, it made my system pretty unstable for a few minutes. I wondered for a second if I should tell Microsoft about it. They would’ve enjoyed it I suppose.

At least they’re being “coo”l about it! Don’t give up Google, this is something interesting! Like I mentionned in the past, it’s all so clear that everything is moving online!
